1959-2014

Cameron, Missouri- Mark Alan Hill, 54, Cameron, passed away on August 1, 2014 in a motorcycle accident in Iowa.
Mark was born on August 26, 1959 in Bellville, Illinois to Al and Marvis Jean (Bradley) Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents.
On July 18, 2009, Mark married Kristina M. Johnson in St. Joseph, Missouri. Kristi survives of the home.
Additional Survivors: son, Preston (Kerri) Hill, Ash, NC; daughter, Tara Hill, Dallas, TX; step-children, Andrea, Stephanie, Derek, Sarah, Tyler Garver, Shawn Jones, Eric Jones and Kristen Banta; 9 grandchildren, Dyllan, Gabby, Jorden, Kenzie, Katie, J.J., Maddie, Corbin and Brayden; 2 sisters, Cathy (Tom) Tanner,Tulsa, OK and Cynthia (Coy) Jones, Carl Junction, MO; nieces and nephews; and Mark’s EMS Paramedic Extended Public Service Family.
Mark graduated from Nevada High School in 1977. He received his EMT certification in Kansas and his Paramedic license through Missouri Southern State University in 1981. Mark worked for the ambulance service in Nevada/Vernon County from 1982 until 1985. In 1985, he began working for the Cameron Missouri Ambulance District and shortly after became the Ambulance Director for the District. In addition to directing the ambulance district while being an active paramedic, Mark was also actively involved in Clinton County’s Emergency Management functions.
He was the President of the Northwest Missouri EMS Committee; a Region H EMS Mutual Aid Coordinator; member of the Region H Homeland Security Oversight Committee, Region H EMS Strike Team, Missouri Ambulance Association, Missouri EMS Association and a board member and active golfer with the Cameron Veteran’s Memorial Golf Course.
Services: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Cameron United Methodist Church. Visitation: 5-8:00 PM, Tuesday evening at the Cameron United Methodist Church. Mr. Hill will be cremated after the service. Inurnment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Mark Hill Memorial EMS Scholarship in care of Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, 222 W. Third Street Cameron, MO .
