Obituary for Fred M. Ross

Fred “Freddie” M. Ross, 80, was born July 10, 1934 in Gallatin, Missouri to Ernest and Mary Jane (Sailor) Ross. Fred departed this life on April 3, 2015, with his family at his bedside.
Fred graduated from Gallatin High School in 1954. He married Irene Hoobler of Hamilton on June 12,1954, in Gallatin, Missouri. He managed different service stations in Winston, Lawson, and Richmond, Missouri, before going to work for the Missouri State Highway Patrol as a Driver License Examiner. The family then moved to a farm near Hamilton, where they farmed and milked cows. Fred bottled the milk and sold it along with different cheeses. He opened an appliance store, Ross Heating and Appliance, in Hamilton and Gallatin, where he sold Whirlpool and G.E. Appliances, furnaces and air conditioners. Fred repaired appliances until his retirement.
Fred loved going camping in his Fifth Wheel and being a camp ground host in state parks. He enjoyed visiting with people and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Irene of the home; sons, Robert (Linda Brown) of Hamilton, Richard (Janet Barron) of Columbia; daughter, Sue Adams of Kingston; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest, and Mary Jane Ross; sisters Nancy George, Edith Wetzel, Wilda Lent, and Earnestine Mosser; and son in law, Frank Adams.
A gathering is planned at 11 a.m., April 11, 2015 at the Community Hall, Rosewood Village, Hamilton, Missouri.
