Cameron, Missouri- Ferdinand “DeWayne” Wicht, 76, Cameron, passed away on February 28, 2018.
DeWayne was born on May 13, 1941 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Ferdinand and Berniece (Harshfield) Wicht.
DeWayne graduated from Ravenna High School, Ravenna, NE.
He was a veteran of the United States Army being drafted November 14, 1963 where he served as a military policeman in Germany. He was honorably discharged on November 13, 1969.
DeWayne was baptized in the First United Methodist Church, Kearney, NE and was a Shriner.
He was married to Becky Hughes on July 18, 1976, until her death on January 26, 1991. He married Ellen Walser on June 24, 1995.
DeWayne was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Becky (Hughes) Wicht; 2nd wife, Ellen (Walser) Wicht; 2 daughters, Carrie Anne Bowen and Gail Walser; brother, Gary Wicht.
Survivors: 4 daughters, Suzie (Brian) Glendy, Oconto, NE, Mary (Jim) McNally, Doniphan, NE, Margie (Mike) Zieber and Ellie Milbourn, Cameron, MO; 4 sisters, Donna(Ralph) Williams, Dannebrog, NE, Jolene (Larry) Weakley, Kearney, NE, Betty Jo (Gary) Johnson, Minden, NE and Pat (Marty) Stange, Hasting, NE; 11 grandchildren, Ryan (Kayla) McNally, Zach McNally, Logan Glendy, Colter Glendy, Harley Bowen, Halyn Gillette, Jeremy Hunt, Dave (Audrey) Johnson, Mandy Leer, Jeff Zieber and Amy Zieber; 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Missouri Services: 2:00 PM, Monday, March 5, 2018 at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron, MO. Visitation: 1-2:00 PM, prior to the service. Online condolences: www.polandthompson.com.
