Kearney, Missouri- James “Jim” Clay Martin, Jr., 67, Kearney, Missouri formerly of Hamilton and Cameron, Missouri passed away on March 2, 2018.
Jim was born on July 26, 1950 in Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lovie and Mel Pepperdine; daughter, Tina Marie; brother, Wayne Martin; great-niece, Robin Boyd.
Jim worked as a car hauler for Allied Systems for many years before retiring.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union #41, Masonic A.F. & A.M. Vincil Lodge # 62, Polo #232, Kearney #311 and formerly of Hamilton #224, Masonic Home Representative, Scottish Rite Valley of St. Joseph, Moila Shrine, and was on the advisory board for the Rainbow Girls.
On March 10, 1979, Jim married Shirley Rupert in Kansas City, MO.
Survivors: wife, Shirley, of the home; son, Benjamin (Cindy Newman) Martin, grandchildren, Dakota, Cheyenne, Shaylea and Ariel of Altamont, MO; daughter, Missy Martin, grandchildren, Aryssa, Bryce and Cameron Newby of Albany, MO; son, Dan (Janelle) Martin, grandchildren, Sydney, Alex Dean and Emily of Hamilton, MO; sister, Susan (Jack) Glaeser, Dubuque, IA; nieces, Kimberly Baker and Debra (Chad Holmes) Schoonover; nephew, Joe (Jess) Glaeser.
Services: 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Lake Viking Church, Lake Viking, Missouri. Visitation: 1-2:00 PM, Masonic service will be held just prior to the service. Burial: Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation to Poland-Thompson Funeral Home for funeral expenses. Online condolences: www.polandthompson.com.
