Charles "Charlie" Franklin  Taylor
Cameron, Missouri- Charles “Charlie” Franklin Taylor, 93, Cameron passed away on May 5, 2018.
Charlie was born on May 5, 1925 in Cameron, Missouri to Morris and Sadie Belle (Whitaker) Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Kenneth, Melvin and John Taylor.
Charlie was a 1943 graduate of Cameron High School. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps serving as a Waist Gunner and earned an Oakleaf Cluster.
He farmed for many years and also worked at Everett Quarries and Earley Tractor Ford.
Charlie was a member of the American Legion Elmer Ellis Post #33 and Sertoma Club.
On May 15, 1949, Charlie married Vernell Helms in Weatherby, Missouri.
Survivors: wife of 68 years, Vernell, of the home; 2 sons, Kent Taylor (Debbie Latimer), Cameron, MO and Mark (Kacey) Taylor, Hamilton, MO; daughter, Connie (Oliver) Tannett, Huntsville, AL; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Taylor (Grace Daniels), Cameron and a sister, Shirley (Galen)Campbell, Cumberland, IA.
Memorial service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Visitation: 1-2:00 PM, prior to the service. Inurnment: Cameron Memory Gardens, Cameron, MO. In lieu of flowers, donation to Wounded Warriors. Online condolences: www.polandthompson.com.
