1932-2018


Cameron, Missouri- Glen Lee “Red” Silkwood, 86, Cameron, passed away on May 24, 2018 at the Missouri Veteran’s Home, Cameron.
Red was born April 16, 1932 in Plymouth, Missouri to Marvin and Mildred (Tye) Silkwood. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Silkwood; brother, Jack Silkwood.
Red was a graduate of Braymer High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Korean War.
He was a member of the Elks BPO #2615, Cameron. Red was a lineman for the City of Cameron, until he retired.
Red had a great love of horses and coon hunting.
Survivors: son, Danny Silkwood (Lora McKee), Cameron; Red’s friend/companion, Genevie Herndon, of the home; former wife, Myrtle Burton, Cameron; Genevie’s children, Jenifer (Shawn) MCGowan, Holt, MO, Shelly LaRose (Ray Otis), Holt, MO and Chris LaRose, Cameron; special friend, Austin Czirr.
Visitation/Dinner: 4:00 PM, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Elks Lodge BPO #2615, Cameron. Military Honors will be held at 4:30 PM. Memorial donations to the Missouri Veteran’s Home Assistance League, Cameron and/or Elks Lodge BPOE #2615, Cameron. Arrangements by Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron, MO.
