1950-2021
April Broyles, Leawood, KS, was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, on April 27, 1950, and passed away at her home in Leawood, KS, on March 12, 2021. She was a 1968 graduate of Cameron High School in Cameron, Missouri, and held a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Missouri.
April was a beloved elementary school teacher and recipient of numerous teaching awards. She began her career in Brookfield, Missouri, and went on to teach in Kansas for many years before retiring.
April was predeceased by her husband, Dan Broyles, her parents, Mary Emma Brown Morrison and Charles G. Morrison, and her infant brother, Charles G. Morrison Jr., all of Cameron. Survivors include her aunts, Patricia Morrison Pugh, Kidder, MO, and Donna Brown Marshall, Cameron, MO. Also surviving are her cousins: Wendy Callis (Ed), Port Saint Lucie, FL; John Brogan (Kelly), Indianapolis, IN; Patty Kuehl (Ron), Port Washington, WI; Robert Hankins (Pam), Liberty, MO; Bill Hankins (Marcia), Platte City, MO; Thomas Hankins (Molly), Kansas City, MO; Connie Hansen (Ed), Greenfield, IA; George Pugh, Cameron, MO; Gail Hawkins, Olathe, KS; Greg Pugh, Kidder, MO; Julie Evans (Wayne), Lawson, MO; Charles Pugh (Amanda), Kidder, MO; Pam Draper (Bruce), Shawnee, KS; Donna Marie Brown, Columbia, MO; Wilma Diven (David), Winston, MO; Sondra Goos (Roger), Dawson, NE; Lloyd Marshall (Virginia), Summerville, SC; Deborah Marshall (Douglas Penick), Boulder, CO; Rebecca Kohlstaedt (Duane), Cameron, MO; and Michele Dawson (Charles), Holt, MO. As she requested, April was cremated. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Osborn, MO.
