To Jim' Family--
We were out of town for a couple of days and missed the notice of Jim's passing and funeral. This is such a sad occurrence of loosing a nearly lifelong friend (Kidder School), and then to pass during a pandemic when a proper funeral service is so hard to carry out. Jim was in my sister's school class and I always counted him among one of my friends. Jim was always friendly and he and his family helped transport my sister's and my calves to the Interstate Cattle Competition in St. Joseph, MO. If that hadn't happened our calves would not have been able to be entered in the show. Jim's (and maybe Gary's) calves were also entered in the show too. That is just one example of his generosity. Another example was letting me ride his bicycle at school. His bike had hand brakes and I had never ridden a bike like that before. Perhaps its worth mentioning I got the pant leg of my new jeans caught in the chain just as the bell rang ending our recess. All of the other kids ran into the school but I couldn't get out of the chain (panic). I'm sure Jim would have helped me if he knew I was in distress. However, in my panic state, I just tore my new jeans pant leg out of the chain and quickly got into my classroom. I told Jim later about my incident with his bike but he reported no damage to the bike and sorry for my problem. I think this is enough examples of Jim's willingness to share and help others. I just feel sad Jim had to pass during a pandemic as I'm sure there are several others who were unable to attend to pay their respects to a great guy!!
