1937 - 2020

James Lee Roach, 83, Cameron, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020. Our father was born February 12, 1937 in Maysville, MO. to Hugh and Mary (Dabler) Roach. He was a high school graduate of Maysville, MO in 1953. He married our mother, Jo Ann on August 21, 1959 in Weatherby, MO. They raised 5 children, Rick, Larry, Tommy, Lee Ann, and Cheri. He loved camping, traveling, and spending time with his kids and grandkids and loved us all so very much. He was a Great Dad and the best PaPa anyone could ask for.
Dad was a veteran of the U.S Army and retired as the Director of Public Works for the City of Cameron after 19 years. He spent many of his younger years with Cameron Machinery Sales-Allis Chalmers and was a member of the BPOE Elks Lodge 2615.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Mary Roach, wife Jo Ann, son Rick, grandson Michael, great grandson Clayton, grandson Jeffrey, brother, John Roach, and sister Bess Freeman.
Survivors include: 2 sons Larry (Gloria) Roach, Nixa, MO, and Tommy Roach, Cameron; 2 daughters Lee Ann Calhoon, Winston, MO, and Cheri (Kevin) Kelley, Cameron; 2 brothers, Jerome (Suzie) Roach, Liberty, MO., Ray “Bud” Dabler, Citrus Heights, Ca., 2 sisters, Frances Meek, Osborn, MO., Bertie Meek, Maysville, MO., and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Our father will be cremated under the direction of Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron, MO. A private inurnment will be held at Cameron Memory Gardens. A celebration of life with family and friends will be announced on a later date. In lieu of flowers/donations can be made to your local food bank or your charity of choice.
