Obituary for Samuel Henry Angelo

Samuel H. Angelo, Sr.
1930-2014

Cameron, Missouri- Samuel H. Angelo, Sr., 83, Cameron, gladly went home to be with his Lord on July 14, 2014.
Sam was born on December 14, 1930 in Wellington, KS to Charles B. and Ruth (Perry) Angelo.
Sam served in the Air Force during the Korean War as a medic. He returned home to work for the Chicago Great Northern Railroad in St. Paul, MN. There he met his bride of 56 years, Janet M. Eron who he married on September 3, 1955.
In 1965, Sam moved his family to Kansas City, MO and became a Police Officer with the KCMO Police Department, where he was a member of the elite shooting team and the K-9 unit. He was given the honor of taking his bomb dog Kuda to Rome, Italy to search planes for 2 months in 1978-79. He retired from the police department on August 4, 1988. Sam was a parishioner of St. Munchin Catholic Church and a past member of the Cameron Optimist club.
Sam was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janet; his granddaughter, Kimberly R. Porch and his brother, Charles “Dean” Angelo.
Sam leaves behind his daughter, Jacque L. (Chuck) Porch, KCMO; sons, Gary D. Angelo, Cameron, MO, Samuel H. (Laura) Angelo, Jr., KCMO; daughter, Undraa (Adam) Uphoff, Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Gregory N. Porch, Audrey Kelly, Heather E. Wilkinson, Odnoo Batchulunn Porch, Justin P. Angelo, Kristin M. Angelo, Patricia M. Angelo, David C. Angelo. Daniel R. Angelo, Nathan A. Uphoff; great-grandchildren, Colton H. and Lily M. Wilkinson.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 AM, Friday, July 18, 2014 at St. Munchin Catholic Church, Cameron. Visitation: 6-7:30 PM, with a wake service at 7:30PM Thursday evening at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Inurnment: St. Munchin Catholic Cemetery, Cameron.
