Condolences

Condolence From: Elton Family
Condolence: My family and I would like to express our deepest sympathy over the loss of Mark.
May you find comfort in your loving memories and the warmth of family and friends. I love the beautiful promise at Revelation 21:4 when death and pain will be gone forever after God restores his original purpose for the earth. We will even see our loved ones again who we have lost in death (John 5:28 & 29). It is our hope that these words bring you a measure of comfort during this difficult time. Once again, please accept our condolences as you deal with your loss.

Condolence From: Mark V. Smith
Condolence: On August 1, 2011, my 14-year-old daughter and I were involved in a motorcycle accident on hwy 69 just south of cameron when a young girl ran a stop sign right in front of us. Mark Hill was on the ambulance crew that responded. After assessing the scene, Mark said that I needed emergency orthopedic surgery and would go to Liberty Hospital, but my daughter would only need a lot of stitches and could go to Cameron Hospital. I pleaded with him to keep us together. He said, "Let me see what I can do." And returned a few minutes later putting my daughter in the ambulance beside me. After comforting and assuring us on the ride to Liberty, he called my wife to let her know where we were going. At the ER, he went to the waiting room to find my wife, advise her of our conditions and led her to where we were. After I could walk again, I stopped by the ambulance barn to thank Mark for all he did for us that day. Of course, he was very gracious, saying it was all part of the job. I only had the pleasure of meeting Mark on two occasions, but I think I know what kind of guy he was, and that EMT was much more than just a job.

Condolence: I didn't know Mark at all. My wife & I are from Columbia, MO and were on a motorcycle trip up through Iowa over the weekend and heard about a Missouri man hit on a motorcycle in Iowa. As we returned home Sunday, we soon noticed the gathering of motorcycles and emergency vehicles on I-35 from the state line to Cameron. We knew this was a memorial processional ride of some sort and as we passed under each overpass, we saluted & honked in support. So sorry for your loss, and may God be at your side through all the pain and healing.
