Charles D. Maxwell
1927-2014

Cameron, Missouri- Charles “Charlie” D. Maxwell, 87, Cameron passed away on December 29, 2014.
Charlie was born on February 1, 1927 in Albany, Missouri to Dewey and Zola (Magee) Maxwell. They preceded him in death.
He was a 1945 graduate of King City High School, King City, MO.
Charlie was a 1st Lieutenant in Field Artillery in the United States Army serving during World War II.
On May 28, 1950, Charlie married Willa Breckenridge in Turney, MO.
Charlie was the President and Chairman of the Board for Farmers State Bank, Cameron before retiring.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, Cameron, a former councilman and mayor for the City of Cameron; member of the Lion’s Club, American Legion Post #33, AF & AM Vincil Lodge #62 and the Omega Shrine; ambassador for the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Survivors: Wife, Willa of the home; 2 sons, Larry (Debbie) Maxwell, Nashville, TN and Jim (Sonya) Maxwell, Wichita, KS; 2 daughters, Kathryn Maxwell, Winston Salem, NC; Karen (Don) Fritz, Cameron; 2 sisters, Margaret Hutton, Redlands, CA and Carol (Roy) Wood, St. Joseph, MO; 7 grandchildren, Todd (Holly)Maxwell, Adam Maxwell, Emily (Brandon) Gnetz, Aaron (Lindsay) Fritz, Sarah Fritz, Genee and Allen Maxwell; 5 great-grandchildren.
Services: 11:00 AM, Friday, January 2, 2015 at the First Christian Church, Cameron. Visitation: 9:30-11:00 AM, prior to the service. Burial: Graceland Memorial Cemetery, Cameron. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church, Cameron and/or Wounded Warriors Project. Arrangements: Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron.
