1936-2015
Ernest B. Thompson III, 78, was born November 22, 1936 in Bethany, Missouri and passed away unexpectedly in Palo Alto, California on July 22, 2015. He was the son of Ernest B. (Preach) Thompson, Jr. and Maurine Sloan Thompson. His maternal grandparents were G. Roy and Etta Sloan and his paternal grandparents were Rev. Ernest B. and Stella Thompson.
He is survived by his Son, Ernest B. Thompson IV of Portland, Org.; Brother, Roy Sloan Thompson and Wife, Jean of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; Sister, Virginia Ann Watson and Husband, Will of Berryville, Va.; niece, Dr. Lisa Marie Thompson and children, Olivia and Camilo of Berkeley, Calif.; numerous cousins and other family members.
He was preceded by his wife of over 40 years, Virginia Boland Thompson; his parents, Ernest B. Thompson, Jr. and Maurine Sloan Thompson and his nephew Evan Sloan Thompson.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 10, 2015 at the Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron, Mo. Interment at the Evergreen Cemetery, Cameron immediately following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Methodist Church, Shriners Children’s Hospitals or the Boys Scouts of America. Online condolences: www.polandthompson.com.
