Cameron, Missouri- Effie Mae Goltra, age 100, Cameron, MO, passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving evening, Nov. 26, 2015.
Effie Mae was born Apr. 10, 1915, in Urich, Henry County, MO, to Mark D. and Clemma J. (Sullivan) Smith. In July 1948, she was wed to Floyd Ward Goltra in Kansas City, MO.
She was a 37 year resident of Cameron and a member of the First Christian Church. She was a housewife. Prior to living in Cameron she had resided in Hamilton and had lived in several cities in Kansas during the time Floyd was employed by the railroad.
Effie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Earl Smith, Frank Smith, Masel Crotchett, Maynard Smith, and Rita Ivey; son-in-law, James C. Lintner; granddaughter, Dena Marie Lintner.
She is survived by daughters, Virgie Mae Welker Lintner, Shirley Faye (Harry) Welker Edwards; son, Floyd Duane (Sandy) Goltra; 7 grandchildren and their extended families. Upon her 100th birthday celebration there were 6 generations present ranging from her children to great-great-great grandchildren.
Services: 1:30 PM, Monday, November 30, 2015 at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Visitation: 12:30-1:30 PM, prior to the service.
