Westwood, Kansas- Agnes Ellyn Sutera, 98, Westwood, Kansas passed away on December 29, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospice House.
Agnes was born July 4, 1917 in Cameron, Missouri to Charles and Mary Ann (Swords) Carroll.
She was a 1935 graduate of Cameron High School and a 1939 graduate of Sister’s Hospital School of Nursing.
On November 4, 1944, Agnes married Vincent Sutera.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vincent; son, Jerry; daughter-in-law, Mo Sutera; sister, Anna O’Connor and brother, Charles Carroll II.
She was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Parish, Roeland Park, Kansas; Altar Society, Bridge Club and Bishop Miege High School Mother’s Club.
Survivors: 6 sons, Jim Sutera, Kansas City, KS, John (Janet) Sutera Fredericksburg, VA, Joe (Maryann) Sutera, Kansas City, KS, Jeff Sutera, Fairway, KS, Jay Sutera, Kansas City, KS and Charlie (Sally) Sutera, Prairie Village, KS; 2 daughters, Joan (Frank) Bartkoski, Overland Park, Kansas and Jean (John) Sheahan, Westwood, KS; Daughter-in-law, Linda Sutera, Westwood, KS; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Parish, 5250 Mission Rd, Roeland Park, KS 66205. Rosary: 8:30 AM, with visitation following from 9-11:00 AM, prior to the service. Burial: 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at St. Munchin Catholic Church, Cameron, MO. Memorial donations to St. Agnes Catholic Parish, 5250 Mission Rd, Roeland Park, KS 66205 and/or St. Luke’s Hospice House 3516 Summit Street, Kansas City, MO 64111.
