Homer L. Thompson
1938-2016


Cameron, Missouri- Homer Lee Thompson, 78, Cameron passed away on March 18, 2016.
Homer was born on January 7, 1938 in Kansas City, Kansas to Benjamin and Maye Marie (Jukes) Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Thompson and Maye Kennedy; sister, Martha Sue Huckaby; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Homer was a 1956 graduate of Cameron High School. He was a Mr. Goodwrench Master Mechanic and a proud veteran, serving in the United States Army. Homer was a member of the Cameron United Methodist Church.
Homer worked as a mechanic for Collins Motors and Red X Motors, before retiring. He enjoyed working at the racetrack in Osborn and Winston.
On June 6, 1964, Homer married Patricia Wentworth in Waterloo, Iowa.
Survivors: wife, Patricia of the home; aunt, Reva Ward and many friends.
Memorial service: 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Visitation: 10-11:00 AM, prior to the service. Inurnment: Cameron Memory Gardens, Cameron. Memorial donations to the Cameron United Methodist Church. Online condolences: www.polandthompson.com.
