Cameron, Missouri- Barbara Ann (Munson) Zuchowski, 89, Cameron formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away on April 12, 2017.
Born September 15, 1927 to Ada (Lee) Munson and Robert Russell Munson, she grew up in Cameron and graduated from Cameron High School in 1945. She received her religious education in the Pilgrim Presbyterian Church, Cameron. She went on to further her education at Northwest Missouri State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. While in college, she was a member and Rush Captain of Alpha Sigma Alpha social sorority, Pi Omega Pi business fraternity, a member and secretary of the Student Senate and was voted Pep Queen in 1948.
In 1950, she was united in marriage with Vincent “Pat” Zuchowski. To this union were born two children, a daughter Lee Ann and a son, Brent.
The family lived 14 years in Illinois, where Barbara was a member of the Order of Eastern star, DAR and Beta Sigma Phi.
In 1969, the family returned to their roots and established a home in St. Joseph, where both Barbara and Pat were employed by the St. Joseph School District.
Barbara was a Christian, an avid reader and a sports enthusiast.
Her parents, husband, Pat and daughter, Lee Ann preceded her in death as did many loving aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her son, Brent; four grandchildren, Andrew (Kim) Hatten, Emily (Ryan) Alford, Aaron (Madison) Hatten and Mitchell Hatten and 4 great-grandchildren, William Patrick and Henry Lee Hatten, Hattie and Genevieve Alford.
Graveside and inurnment: 1:30 PM, Monday, April 24, 2017 at Graceland Cemetery, Cameron. Memorials could be sent to the Cameron R-1 Education Foundation and/or Cameron Library.
