The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Crenshaw can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Bob & Carolyn (Mix) Pumphrey
Condolence: I have many memories of when my family and I lived in Osborn, Missouri on the farm across the road from Jim and his parents. Bob met Jim at Central High School where they developed a warm friendship and mutual respect for each other.
Jim was always a gentleman with a great sense of humor. He was a very loyal person with a deep love for his community. He touched many lives and we will fondly remember him. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you in your loss.

Condolence: I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to the Dr. Crenshaw family. It was my honor to work with Jim for fourteen years at Central. He also taught my two children, Jon and Helen. He was fantastic teacher and gentleman. His love of family, students, and community was above reproach. May he rest in peace and perpetual light shine upon him. Again my deepest sympathy to his family and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Sincerely,
Barry Brady

Condolence: Dr. Crenshaw was my teacher at Central High School. I graduated in 1979. Your father had a significant impact upon my life. I took his class for US Govt. I am and was always interested in our nation's history. I think he liked me because we had good discussions and arguments in his class. I did not know a teacher could or would talk to a student outside of the classroom because it just didn't happen with me. That is, until Jim took the time to do it with me. He gave me a little "inappropriate" advice about a campaign poster once when I ran for Student body vice president. I will always remember that he cared. As we both got older, we would see each other and talk. I attribute much of my desire and success as a public school teacher and administrator to my interactions with Dr. Crenshaw. I was fortunate to know him and I miss him already. God bless the family. You have my sympathies.

Condolence: My condolences to the Crenshaw family. 'Doc' was a great teacher of mine; one of several who made an impression on my life. He told life the way it was, made students think and work hard, and he always had a smile.

Condolence: Dr. Crenshaw was one of 'those' teachers. The ones who make a permanent, positive impression on a student. I was so lucky to have him as my teacher at Central during the early 70s--turbulent times for which he provided great perspective. He was funny and entertaining and shocking and brilliant. I still think of him often, all these years later. I am so sorry to hear of his death.

Condolence: I took Mr. Crenshaw's American history class at Central High my junior year, over 45 years ago. He was a phenomenal teacher, and I've always thought of him as one of the best teachers I ever had. Sorry to hear of his passing.
