Union Star, Missouri- Charles Sylvester Brown, 62, Union Star, Missouri passed away on March 5, 2018.
Charles was born on April 24, 1955 in St. Joseph, Missouri as the 8th child (8th wonder) to Algridge and Dorothy (King) Brown.
He worked for 31 years as a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer for the Missouri Highway Patrol, before retiring.
Charles was a member of the St. Francis Baptist Temple and served as a Trustee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon S. Brown.
Survivors: 2 sons, Brandon (Stacy) Brown, Union Star, Marcus Brown, Omaha, NE; daughter, Nicole Hughes, St. Joseph, MO; 4 brothers, Henry E. (Elizabeth) Brown, Cincinnati, OH, Richard L. (Marsha) Brown, Glendale, AZ, Aldridge I. (Jennifer) Brown, Cincinnati, OH and Wyatt S. Brown, St. Joseph, MO; 6 sisters; D. Carolyn Starr, St. Joseph, MO, Saundra A. (Jonathan) Dunn, Raymore, MO, Mary Gayle Brown, St. Joseph, MO, Yvonne L. Brown-Turner, Richmond, CA, Sophia D. Brown, San Leandro, CA, Tamarra L. Brown, Pleasanton, CA; 4 grandchildren, Colby Jeffers, Kelsey Brown, Jayden Jeffers and Jace Deaver; 17 nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at St. Francis Baptist Temple, St. Joseph, Missouri. Visitation: 12:00 PM-2:00 PM, prior to the service. Burial: Ashland Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri. Memorial donations to the St. Francis Baptist Temple. Online condolences: www.polandthompson.com.
