Kidder, Missouri- George F. Pugh, 89, Kidder, Missouri died September 6, 2015 at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 13, 1926 in St. Joseph, Missouri the youngest child of George Sr. and Pearl (Hewitt) Pugh. He graduated from Kidder High School in 1947 after returning from service in the 25th Division of the United States Army. He married Patricia A. Morrison in 1950.
George retired with the Missouri Highway Department in 1989 with 35 years of service. Prior to that, he had worked at Ford, General Motors and was engaged in farming with his in-laws, Harry and Reva Morrison.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Reta Ann Pugh; 5 brothers, Vy June, Hank, Artie, Virgil and Fred; 5 sisters, Dorolyne Gurney, Isla Stewart, Ersal Mark, Oma Metz and Madge Loy.
George served on the Selective Service Board; a Commander with the American Legion #285, Hamilton; Kidder School Board and was a former Mayor of Kidder. He attended the Kidder United Methodist Church.
Through the years, he enjoyed Bowling, digging for old bottles, hunting coins, tractor pulling playing pitch, John Deere Tractors, Maytag engines, his “granddog” Killie, and was a local golf club champion at both Cameron and Hamilton.
Survivors include Patricia, his devoted wife of 65 years; children, Connie (Ed) Hansen, George Pugh, Jr, Gail (Ron) Hawkins, Greg Pugh, Julie (Wayne) Evans, Charles (Amanda) Pugh, Pamela (Bruce) Draper; sister, Avanell Chamberlain; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and his favorite brother-in-law, Eugene Hankins.
Services: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the Kidder United Methodist Church, Kidder, MO. No scheduled visitation. Burial: Kidder Cemetery.
