1944-2014


Kidder, Missouri- Darrell Joe Purdue, 70, Kidder, formerly of Liberty, MO passed away on August 5, 2014.
Darrell was born on February 24, 1944 to William Joseph and Joyce (Lancaster) Purdue. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Billy Ray Purdue.
He was a graduate of William Jewell College and a member of Kappa Alpha.
He was employed by Sears as a store manager and service tech until his retirement. In the recent years he enjoyed farming, breeding paint horses and leather work.
Survivors: wife, Lynn of the home; son, Darrell G (Jami) Purdue, Kansas City, MO; daughter, Christy (Tom) Clement, Portland, OR; step-son, Rodney (Bonnie) Cates, Lawson, MO; step-daughter, Jessica Cates, Tulsa, OK; sister, Joyce Ann Bice, Jefferson City, TN; mother, Joyce L. Purdue, Jefferson City, TN; 8 grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, Jacob, Sean, Evan, Zac, Bella and Elaina; and leader dog, Zylo.
Service: 7:00 PM, Friday evening, August 8, 2014 at the Kidder United Methodist Church, Kidder. Visitation: 5:30-7:00 PM, prior to the service. Burial: 1:30 PM, Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Teegarden Cemetery, Rayville, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to leaderdog.org. Arrangements: Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron, MO.
