I am sad that I will miss the service, but my thoughts and prayers are with his family. I met Darrell not too long before he lost his sight. My impression of him was that he was a generous man. I came to know him better after he lost his sight. The man I came to know was very fatherly and perhaps the most intelligent, gifted man I've ever known. Nothing was a challenge to him. He took everyday in stride. Some of my best memories are being there for his first horseback rides without his sight. So brave and inspiring! Until we meet again, I will aspire to be half as inspiring as you Darrell!
