The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Charlene Stevens can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Lunch at work.

One of the best things about working with Charlene at Liberty Hospital, besides her knowledge and willingness to help, was lunch time.  She and I found we shared a love of reading.  Being new I was a little afraid not to join in the lunch time chatter with the rest of the nurses.  I had observed Charlene going to lunch earlier than the rest of our crew, when patient care allowed.  I was able to join her on one occasion and found her eating and reading.  I was so excited as that is what I loved to do at lunch.  From then on she and I did our best to go to lunch together so we could eat and read and not worry about hurting anyone's feelings as we kept out heads in our books.  When she retired, I was asked to purchase the floor's gift.  What else could I chose but a gift card to a bookstore.  She told me it was wonderful. Good Bye reading buddy.
