The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Crenshaw can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Don Lawrence

Dr. Crenshaw was my teacher at Central High School. I graduated in 1979. Your father had a significant impact upon my life. I took his class for US Govt. I am and was always interested in our nation's history. I think he liked me because we had good discussions and arguments in his class. I did not know a teacher could or would talk to a student outside of the classroom because it just didn't happen with me. That is, until Jim took the time to do it with me. He gave me a little "inappropriate" advice about a campaign poster once when I ran for Student body vice president. I will always remember that he cared. As we both got older, we would see each other and talk. I attribute much of my desire and success as a public school teacher and administrator to my interactions with Dr. Crenshaw. I was fortunate to know him and I miss him already. God bless the family. You have my sympathies.
